How many things do we lose?

How much love do we misuse?

For the sake of holding on to pride

How many situations have we not solved?

For the sake of holding on to our pride

How many issues in ourselves have we not resolved?

For the sake of being angry

How many people do we turn away?

For the sake of being angry

How many people do we cause dismay?

For the sake of not forgiving

How much happiness have we lost?

For the sake of not forgiving

How many new memories have we lost?

For the sake of not listening

How much have we not understood?

For the sake of not listening

How much bad could we have made good?

For the sake of surviving

How many dreams have we slaughtered?

For the sake of being you...

How much more destruction will you yet require?

feet pointed north

where life has to be

less pressing

take one step at a time

don't dare to think of what may be behind

shadowing, following, merciless.

to your trapped emotions

no Houdini

as it were

but the route to escape is clear

it is wherever you walk

the path growing underfoot

with each stride

like the inky colours

of sunset across the sky

relieved that a blank page

will begin

it's embryonic growth

into the rising of the

sun, both old and new

take your time now

breathe in life's essence...

you can place the words you find

on tomorrow's empty script.
